Royal Liverpool Case Study
UK Special Projects Royal Liverpool University Hospital Marmorit Render Installation
Project: Royal Liverpool University Hospital
Date: September 2017

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital External Render Installation was a very complex scheme that had a lot of pre-start organisation and co-ordination for the sequencing of the SFS and CP boarding along with the render, the just in time approach of releases from the concrete frame to the external façade application was at times very frustrating especially due to forces out of everybody’s control i.e. the North West’s weather front that hindered this job from start to finish. All works were completed from mast-climbers and MEWPs throughout the job.
Again, UK Special Projects new operational team and Managing Director had total control and oversight of this job for the SFS/CP boarding and render installation from start to finish, this job finally completed in September 2017 after nearly 2 ¾ years, the results speak for themselves.
Along with the weather problems there were also delays to this job at the front end due to Japanese knot weed and the excavation of a large amount of Asbestos, however this did not dampen the spirit on the job and these delays have not effected the outstanding quality of the Knauf render system installed within the 2 internal courtyards of this huge scheme for Carillion Construction this was second largest in size in the UK over the past few years second only to the NSEC hospital in Northumberland.
